I got to see the doctor today (finally), and got some prescription medicines for my naggy cough that wouldn't go away... 500mg tables of antibiotics, and cough suppressant fluid. And yikes were they expensive! Antibiotics works out to be 70+ Cdn, and cough suppressant fluid works out to be 35+ Cdn. (For those that don't know, Canadian currency is almost 1 to 1 with American USD these days) Good thing the insurance company covered most of the fees and I only had to pay 20 some odd dollars for the two of them.
While the antibiotic tablets tasted bitter and is nothing special, I must say, however, the cough fluid tastes exceptionally nice. The prescription was "Dimetapp-C", and upon google'ing, I was able to locate this webpage which offered some details about it:
RxMed. Apparently, this particular medicine is known for substance abuse, and so it now requires prescription... and I can see why! :) Well, I'm not going to abuse it... its too expensive for my income...
Anyways, update is brief today because I'm still coughing non-stop, I guess the medication doesn't kick in that quickly. I'm gonna hit the sac and get some rest... Hopefully things will be better by the time I wake up (Yay for placebo effect and magical medication?).
